Spinal Decompression
I also utilize Spinal Decompression in the cases when patients have herniated discs or spinal stenosis or other conditions of the spine. When I'm treating with spinal decompression, I'm utilizing the acupuncture at the same time, which is tremendously effective. In same cases, when you're utilizing spinal decompression, it can cause a little bit of discomfort so I calm that area through treating through the ear (through auricular acupuncture) with the German and French style of Acupuncture.
Then, after we do the Spinal Decompression, we often finnish with chiropractic adjustments.
How does Spinal Decompression work?
Sometimes, the pain in your neck or back is a result of a herniated (or bulging) disk. The discs function as cushions in between the vertebrae that make up your spinal column. When these cushions wear out or become damaged, they can pinch a spinal nerve, thereby causing acute or chronic pain. Akron Spinal Decompression Therapy helps to separate the vertebrae thereby decreasing pressure on the spinal nerves (hence “decompression”).
Herniated or upset vertebrae are the most common issues needing resolution through spinal decompression and adjustment. Akron Spinal Decompression Therapy is an advanced traction-based procedure, meaning that the methods employed gently stretch your spine so that pressure is relieved on the spinal nerves.
Through this treatment, damaged discs can be relieved of their stress so that the bulge can return to its orginial size and pain can be alleviated.
