About Dr Lee Funk
In 1998, I was going to adopt a little boy from Russia and I had to take a Diphtheria Tetanus injection in order to travel overseas. I had a very bad reaction to that and it gave me a very strange form of recurring asthma and pneumonia. And I was so ill by the year 2000 that I had to sell my (Chiropractic) Practice and retire.
I was very ill, taking up to 60 milligrams of Prednisone a day, doing breathing treatments, utilizing inhalers, and I just could not get over it. Finally it got so bad that I had to retire and sell my practice.
I just happened to visit a medical doctor that did Acupuncture. I had been visiting him at his home where he was treating me for a head injury and a shoulder injury. Well, he went into the back room and the next thing I know is he's coming out with some needles.
I was a little apprehensive because of my Christian education and training being that I am a Christian (I was having some trouble with the Eastern Philosophy often associated with acupuncture). But I was wheasing away, and he came out with a little chuckle on his face and he said, "Let me try some acupuncture" and I said, "Ok, go ahead."
Within fifteen minutes, my wheasing had diminished by probably fifty percent Another interesting point is that he looked at me and said, "Two Weeks." I said, "What do you mean, two weeks?" He said, "Two weeks, and you'll be off your medication." Well, it was acutally twelve days!
And it was like the lights went on for me from that point on and I knew exactly what direction I was heading in. I started studying acupuncture up to fourteen hours a day, and I was retired so I had a lot of free time to travel around the country and to spend time with the Masters. So I started practicing acupuncture on friends and family.
Since I was retired, we took a trip to Michigan and I called some of my friends and collegues, and I said, "get together some of your worst cases, your worst patients, and I will treat them at my parent's home or their home. Well, I did so and within six days I was on the local radio station talking about Acupuncture!
