Herbal Medicine
Herbal Medicine is Wellness

Sometimes, herbal medicine and a change in nutrition is what your body specifically needs to repair itself. Many people take vitamin C when they are feeling ill. Let me tell you, taking vitamin C for illness is like eating an apple every other day. Sure, it's good for you! But that does not explain why you were sick in the first place. Our goal at the Integrated Wellness Center is to get to the root of the problem, rather than to introduce more toxic chemicals and drugs into your body.
There are a host of herbs and nutritious additions to your diet that can radically change the way you feel and quickly reduce and reverse the throngs of sickness--beyond what surplus vitamin C ever could.
The key is to shift from a symptomatic view of illness to a proactive view. Why spend half the cost of your car repairing the engine when you could simply keep it maintained? The same is with a healthy diet and powerful, quality supplements. In the long run, you save big.
Hype is Not Reliable

"Men's Vitamins." "Women's vitamins." "Kid's Vitamins." More and more people these days are taking supplements and vitamins. But sometimes, what people buy turns out to be from popular opinions or huge advertising campaigns. And if you asked those people, most of them would say that they dont actually notice a significant difference--they just know "vitamins are good for you." But when someone spends hundreds of dollars per month on their vitamins, you would hope that they might notice some affects!
In a word, there are a lot of companies out there selling nutritional supplements of all sorts. The truth is, some supplements are better than others. And a select few are a lot better for you than than the rest. Dr. Funk has the experience to advise you on some good choices.
Your Nutritional Needs are Unique
Whether it be gender, size, weight, bloodtype, age, environment, health history, generational background, you name it: your nutritional needs are different from other people. What works for other people may not work as well for you. You are unique and require a unique nutritional mix of supplements for your optimum health.

Sometimes people buy into the vitamin fads which come and go. But this process snowballs into a lot of wasted time and money. Sometimes, people begin to take supplements and notice a change--but their supplements are dealing with symptoms rather than causes. Then, if they should ever go off of their supplements, their health has not fundamentally improved. They've just been bandaging the real problem.
Bandaids are cheap, but if you keep using them when what you really need are stitches, you're going to spend a whole lot more on those bandaids than you ever would on the stitches!
Again, please be advised that your nutritional needs are unique to you. Some of the best nutritional medicine comes from professionals who have made the rounds and examined the research and seen the results. The proof is in the pudding!
Quality Grades Are Important

When you buy a vitamin bottle at the grocery store, usually it is not required by the store or the FDA to list the quality or purity of the supplement. In a word, you could be purchasing vitamin E for example with only a few milligrams per capsule. It IS vitamin E. But it is vitamin E at one tenth what you could find elsewhere. And you might not notice any sigificant improvement from the lesser brand. Junk vitamins are just taking up space in your stomach. In some cases, you might be better off just taking a few more bites of brocolli. And you might save some money on those bites too.
