I was fortunate enough to meet Dr. Lee Funk a couple months ago through a friend of mine.
I'm here because of a ski injury that I sustained in my mid-twenties. After twenty-five years of normal wear-and-tear and aging, I got the point where the pain was getting worse and worse. It was broken rib, a collapsed long, and I guess I also hurt my vertebrae.
And about two years ago, I went to an orthopedic guy in very beach. Unfortunately, they could not treat it because their insurance does not allow work on ribs--they had to go to a Thoracic guy. So I went to a Thoracic guy in Ft. Peirce who was a Princeton-Harvard Graduate, and they told me that they dont do surgury, they dont rebuild--what they do is they treat through pain therapy, which is drugs. And I did not not really like the idea, but he told me that the drugs would hardly make me feel drowsy at all. But with pain killers, I was very uncomfortable driving. I'm a tech-writer, so I couldn't really work anymore, so I came off the drugs.
Well, by last fall, the pain was so bad that I couldn't sleep unitl about two or three in the morning, and I really just didnt know what to do.
A friend I work with met Dr. Funk and he told me that he might be able to help me. So I came up here and after one visit the pain went from a 10+ down to less than one on that scale. And I had my first good night sleep in two years.
